Put Theft Blame Where It Belongs

IF motorists who don't lock their cars are to blame for car theft, why aren't shopkeepers (including supermarkets) who don't have their goods under lock and key to blame for shoplifting?

It's time society stopped blaming the victims and insisted that courts issue penalties to discourage low-life scum from pinching everything that isn't welded down.

Our aim should be to return to the days when it was not necessary to lock anything; when our elderly were respected as our pioneers and could potter about without fear, and our kids were treasured as our future and could go out to play without supervision. Authorities who find that concept just too difficult should step aside and let people with enthusiasm, confidence and vision have a go!

On top of that, experts warn that inside a closed car in summer the temperature can reach 60 degrees within 10minutes.

Surely, at worst, it's unsafe for people to be expected to use a car under those conditions and, at best, it's just plain stupid to use more fuel and create more pollution driving an airconditioner because we're forbidden to take advantage of whatever breeze is available while the vehicle is stationary.
